More Faith

Psalm 36 (New International Version)

Psalm 36
For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD.

1 An oracle is within my heart
concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: [a]
There is no fear of God
before his eyes.
2 For in his own eyes he flatters himself
too much to detect or hate his sin.

3 The words of his mouth are wicked and deceitful;
he has ceased to be wise and to do good.

4 Even on his bed he plots evil;
he commits himself to a sinful course
and does not reject what is wrong.

5 Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.

6 Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.

7 How priceless is your unfailing love!
Both high and low among men
find [b] refuge in the shadow of your wings.

8 They feast on the abundance of your house;
you give them drink from your river of delights.

9 For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you,
your righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 May the foot of the proud not come against me,
nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.

12 See how the evildoers lie fallen—
thrown down, not able to rise!

You have to ask what is it about the creation vs
evolution debate that makes it such an emotional
topic. In a word, social engineering.

I already suspect that the usual response of the
dissenting evolutionaries is that, you don't
understand the theory. Yes. That's me. However,
if you want to see how it is packaged for the
public, all you have to do is make a visit to the
Field Museum in Chicago and visit the 'Molecules
to Man' exhibit. Unless it's been changed, you
will find as the first exhibit the model of
'recombination and mutation' -- that's the linear
sequential model of evolutionary progress as sold
to the public. I have not looked at a recent text
book, but in the past, the same model is presented.
Even though it's been years since I walked through
the exhibit, I remember the dismay that I
experienced as I went through. The thought that I
was seeing pure P.T. Barnum style propaganda would
not leave me. The children that are led through
there each year are not in a position to realize
that they are viewing pure propaganda. They are
told that this is 'science'. Bah! Humbug! It is
propaganda, plain and simple.

The point to keep in mind is that there is an
agenda in play that involves the techniques of
promotion and recognition. Some might say it's
brainwashing. I might say it's pure baloney.
ReMine presents the idea that there is an element
of misdiretion, with the need to perform an act of
illusion. I'm not a PhD., so I can use the
vernacular -- baloney. My agenda is
straightforward and simple. I want to see a model
that gives me insight and understanding, rather
than obfuscation. And I'm a little resentful that
I had to spend an extended period of time trying
to work through all the smoke and mirrors that
are currently employed in maintaining the status
quo of 'biological evolution'. Because the agenda
is, at its center, an attack on the authority of
scripture. That's where my personal efforts begin
and end. I personally find it hard to live with
the compartmentalization of 'truth'. Either
something is true, or it's not. Either the text
of scripture is true, or it's not. Modern
mythology has the agenda of convincing you that
there is no reason to rely on scripture, and
therefore, we can make up the rules as we move
along and ignore anything that scripture has to
say about almost everything. The focus of the
effort is to cast off the rule of G-d and replace
it with the rule of man. That's always been the
conflict. It's always been a war against G-d.

The problem with trying to compartmentalize the
'truth' is that the creation is structured with an
either/or design. In other words, the formal laws
of logic were not invented, they emerged over time
from observing the way that things behave.
Observation was translated into a system of logic.
So, saying that science has nothing to do with
religion (theology) is just false. Truth requires
unity. The problem here is that either evolution
is not science or our religion is not true. If
you will notice there is no religious preference
in terms of mathematics, at least at the applied
level. There's no religious conflict with
engineering, or chemistry or physics or whatever
branch of hard science you choose. The problem
lies at the heart of the conflict, with the
doctrine that's been incorporated into the theory
of biology. Even in biology you can talk about
classification systems and descriptions of living
organisms, and there is no conflict with religion.
Can you see that there is a reason for religious
conflict in the arena of evolution theory? It's
because it's a religious doctrine, based on faith.
And if you attempt to compartmentalize the conflict
by applying another definition of truth, then you
just missed the boat or bus.

Another aspect of my agenda is that I'm not so
much concerned about converting the true
believers in evolution as much as I am concerned
about pointing out to believers that there is no
genuine concern on their part to doubt scripture
when confronted by the doctrine of evolution.
Just realize that it's a doctrine, an accepted
element of modern myth, and truth is not the
criteria. The application of modern myth, is to
provide a mechanism to pursue other social and
religious agendas. That's it. Reread Romans 1.
Romans 1 reiterates that there really is nothing
new under the sun. It's always been this way.

As long as I have the time on my hands, and I've
been wanting to write out some ideas and, you
know, like anyone who enjoys writing and reading,
to write a decent novel, this blog is an excercise
in electronic publishing. Maybe, someday, a
novel.

For today, I'll take another look at passages
from ReMine's book and take the Jesus Bus a little
farther down the road.

"All organisms are tied together, intentionally,
by a unity of design. All organisms are united
by underlying similarity. A complex web of factors
links all life. These similarities extend down to
biomolecules. Biological universals such as
DNA/RNA, proteins, amino acids, and ATP join life
together at the molecular level."(p23)

This is an example of what the evolutionista would
say, is an evidence to support the theory, that
all living things descend from a single ancestor.
The problem is that the linear sequential model
of descent -- recombination and mutation -- is not
a plausible mechanism. Once you begin to see the
details of how living organisms are structured at
the molecular level, it becomes obvious that life
depends on minute details that cannot recombine
and mutate. By far, any kind of genetic alteration
results in the death of an organism, not in an
expression of greater complexity. Again, remember
the example of insulin from yesterday. Without
insulin in the body, a person usually will not
survive very long. So, you have to ask, Would
the insulin have to evolve first, or would the
human have to evolve first, then develop a need
for insulin? It's almost like the question, Which
came first, the chicken or the egg? I think of it
as another form of misdirection. In other words,
it may be possible to learn how insulin works,
but to even ask how it 'evolved' seems pointless.
One thing that's certain is, that it wasn't by
recombination and mutation.

The big problem, in my mind, with the mechanism of
recombination and mutation, is that the mechanism
is limited to the lifetime of the organism. In
other words, you really don't have billions of
years for evolution to occur, you only have a few
handfuls of years, because that's the lifetime of
the organism -- man. This presents a problem.
The human will die as soon as 'recombination
and mutation' takes a wrong turn.

What we find is that DNA is self-repairing. It
has a built-in mechanism to *resist* recombination
and mutation. Huh! Whoda thunk it?

These are *relevant* details. The mechanism is
faced with the challenge of sequence -- what comes
first; and the challenge of timeframe -- the
lifetime of the organism; and the challenge of
resistance -- a self-repairing molecular sequence.
The *design* refutes the theory of evolution. At
this point, with or without a Designer, the theory
breaks down. It just doesn't work that way.

So, if there is a conclusion to be drawn from the
unity of life, it would not be found in a model
that relies on 'recombination and mutation'. The
details don't support that conclusion. Creation
offers a better model. The unity of life points
to a single common origin as the act of a Creator.

Of course, the battle is not over with so easily.
There are all the exceptions to deal with. But,
notice that not everything can be an exception to
the rule. That wouldn't make sense either. So,
I can offer the generalization that when you lump
together all the exceptions, what you will find is
there *is* a limited range of adaptation that is
also built-in to the creation model. Life was
designed to be adaptable, within a limited range.
Adaptation is not mutation in the sense that
molecules will randomly turn into men over
billions of years. Forget about it.

There's alot more to this discussion, but look at
the time.

Luke 12
22 Then Jesus said to his disciples: "Therefore I
tell you, do not worry about your life, what you
will eat; or about your body, what you will wear.

23 Life is more than food, and the body more than
clothes.

24 Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap,
they have no storeroom or barn; yet G-d feeds
them. And how much more valuable you are than
birds!

25 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to
his life[b]?

26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why
do you worry about the rest?

27"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor
or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all
his splendor was dressed like one of these.

28 If that is how G-d clothes the grass of the
field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown
into the fire, how much more will he clothe you,
O you of little faith!

29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat
or drink; do not worry about it.

30 For the pagan world runs after all such things,
and your Father knows that you need them.

31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be
given to you as well.

32 "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father
has been pleased to give you the kingdom.

33 Sell your possessions and give to the poor.
Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear
out, a treasure in heaven that will not be
exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth
destroys.

34 For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also.
